Storm + UnderPants visit the Woodstock Peace Garden

bestiesStorm has a favourite Teddy Bear called UnderPants [yes, that’s right – UnderPants; we’ll share the story of his name another time 🙂 ].

Together Storm + UnderPants plan to change the world, one unschooling activity at a time.

Their first activity has been to create a children’s activity book based on time they’ve spent at the Woodstock Peace Garden [see http://co-creators.co.za/peace-garden/ for more information about this delightful eco garden.]  A limited number of books have been made and retail for R20 each.  Please contact us at storm@macey.co.za should you wish to buy your very own limited-edition copy. peace garden activity book You can follow the Unschooling Adventures of Storm + UnderPants on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM. our home-schooling/un-schooling experiences

The Longmans have been through a variety of education streams from Mainstream to Home-Schooling to Un-Schooling.

Michelle’s thoughts on these experiences have been summarised in an article written last month but just recently published on her blog.

Makita Cordless Screwdriver to be won!

As a result of public demand, we have a second raffle to support our Chilly-fund-raising-efforts.

Chilly has been moved to her new home in Joostenbergvlakte. It’s our intention to move her to Oude Molen, Pinelands, later this year when space becomes available but in the meantime she’s enjoying grassy paddocks that she shares with just one or two other horses.

With Emily wanting/needing to be with Chilly up to 4 or 5 times a week, our petrol costs have increased somewhat and this, along with the purchase of a saddle, has meant that a second raffle will certainly help us.

Prizes on offer are:

Makita Cordless Screwdriver

OR

Two Oceans Aquarium Tickets
For Two Adults – valid till 20th October 2012

Tickets are R25 each and payments can be made directly into the bank account below … your name on the deposit will secure raffle ticket/s for you! The draw for this particular raffle will take place on Sunday, 17th June at 18h00.

Chilly : our soon-to-be-horse …

Anyone who knows our family, knows that horses are an integral part of our lives, especially Emily’s.  As such, we are embarking on a very exciting journey – we are adopting a horse from the SPCA.

Child’s Bride is a lovely young mare who has been off the track for about five months and is looking for a new home.  And she’s found it … the Longmans!  We’ve nicknamed her Chilly.

However, acquiring a horse, even from the SPCA, is expensive so we have put together a fund-raising exercise … and would ask you kindly for your help should you be in the position to assist.  We are raffling off some wonderful prizes viz. a Makita Impact Driver and a number of Avon Product Hampers.  Prizes range between R200 and R800!

Tickets are R50 each and payments can be made directly into the bank account below … your name on the deposit will secure raffle tickets for you!  The draw for this particular raffle will take place on Sunday, 29 April at 16h00.  All contributors are welcome to join us at our home, 12 Glen Avon – Pinelands, for a glass of bubbly [we’ll make sure it’s “Chilly” … ha, ha] at 16h00 for the draw and handing over of prizes.

With the warmest of regards

and Carla and Storm, of course!Â
